Learn how we taste foods and identify flavors at the upcoming Balancing Flavors workshop with Chef Markus Iten, ECA Founder and Honorary President & General Manager of Food Tracks.

  • Learn how we taste and smell foods.
  • Understand the factors that affect the perception of flavors.
  • Master how flavors marry, oppose or juxtapose.
  • Learn how to use a wide variety of herbs, spices, oils, vinegars and other flavorings to enhance the natural flavors of a dish.
  • Familiarize yourself with popular international flavor principles.

Understanding the basic flavor principles and how we smell and taste foods is essential for any chef who wishes to please the palate of guests.

ECA Cancellation & Refund Policy
  • Training course registrations will not be confirmed until registration is complete and payment is received in full.
  • In order to cancel a confirmed training placement please Submit a Request.
  • Please submit cancellation requests no later than 5 calendar days before the starting date of the scheduled course if you wish to receive a full refund of paid registration fees.
  • No-shows and cancellations not made within the specified 5 day cancellation period will lose the full cost of their registration.
  • Payment made for a specific training course is not valid as credit to attend an alternative training course.
