The 11th National Salon Culinaire will kindly be hosted
by the InterContinental Citystars on Tuesday, June 10, 2008.
This year's competion features an expert judging team of 6 foreign jury members. The ECA
Culinary Trophy 2008 will go to the best-scoring establishment. The Pride of Egyptian chefs, the
members of the National Culinary Team of Egypt, will be present and show their culinary
talents to their colleagues. A special award will also
be given to the best Decorative Showpiece Theme Flowers and Trees of Egypt.

Successful WACS Congress in Dubai
The WACS congress was successfully hosted by the Dubai International Convention & Exhibition Centre this May.
Egypt's participation, kindly made possible by Juhayna Food Industries, allowed for valuable networking for the Egyptian chefs. Chef Markus Iten received honorary membership to the Emirates Culinary Guild at the Congress.

Iceland Elected to Hold WACS Presidium
Gissur Gudmundsson was elected to President of the WACS at the recently held WACS 2008 Congress in
Dubai. Gissur and his Icelandic team are dedicated to bringing WACS to new heights in the coming four years, aiming for it to
become a real center for chef's education and networking worldwide.

South Korea Wins MLA Blackbox Global Finals in Dubai
South Korea won first place out of 19 international teams competing in the bi-annual MLA Blackbox
Global Finals. In addition, South Korea was chosen to host the 2012 WACS congress after the next 2010 WACS Congress to be held in Santiago, Chile in two years.
