The Egyptian Chefs Association wishes to congratulate the first 176 students of the Culinary Training Centers of Egypt, who graduated on Tuesday, 16 October, in the attendance of H.E. Hisham Za'zou, Minister of Tourism of the Arabic Republic of Egypt.
On the appointed date, the auditorium of Akhbar El Youm Academy was full. The CTCE students, all dressed in chef's uniforms and wearing their special chef's graduation hats eagerly awaited the arrival of H.E. Hisham Za'zou, who took the time to personally congratulate each and every student upon his or her graduation. The students each received the City & Guilds international diploma in food preparation, paving their path to a successful career as chef.
Also in attendance were Mr. Elhamy Elzayat, President of the Egyptian Tourism Federation; Mr. Hussein Badran, Senior Consultant to Minister of Tourism for Human Resources Development and Training; and Dr. Rawia Abdel Kader, CTCE Assessment & Centers Manager; along with the culinary trainers and Chef Markus Iten, Head of the culinary department CTCE.
The Culinary Training Centers of Egypt, managed by the Egyptian Tourism Federation and financially funded by the Ministry of Tourism, started their first program in culinary arts and food preparation last year in May, with the technical assistance of the Egyptian Chefs Association. After one year of intensive theoretical and practical studies, the students completed their program last July and were immediately employed in the fast-growing hotel and catering industry.
