
The Red Sea Chefs Chapter office has recently employed two dynamic persons to serve the members: Dina Kamel Fahmy and Neveen Gamil Rachid. The office is stocked with a wide selection of outstanding culinary books and bilingual (Arabic/English) student manuals for professional chefs to advance their education.
Essam Sayed Mohamed, Executive Chef Hurghada Marriott Beach Resort, is the chairman of the Red Sea Chefs Chapter. Chef Essam is assisted by Nageh Ahmed Rekaby, Executive Chef Continental Resort Hurghada as Assistant Chairman, and four other dedicated chefs who volunteer to help the development and growth of the Red Sea Chefs Chapter: Waheed Moustafa Ali Moustafa, Executive Chef Festival Riviera Resort; Hesham Khalil Ibrahim Ahmed, Executive Pastry Sheraton Soma Bay Resort; Sobhy Mohamed Abdel Azim, Executive Sous Chef Iberotel Makadi Beach; and Moustafa Mohamed Eweida, Executive Sous Chef Hilton Hurghada Resort.
The Egyptian Chefs Association is growing and under the leadership of Chef Essam Sayed, Executive Chef of the Hurghada Marriott Beach Resort, the Association has now opened what is considered the first ECA chapter outside Cairo, the Red Sea Chefs Chapter. The ECA office in Hurghada aims to better serve the Association's members in the Red Sea region by conducting more training workshops and chef's competitions in the area.
The opening was celebrated on Sunday, 25 September, with a lavish Cocktail Reception at The Island of the Hurghada Marriott Beach Resort under the starry sky. In attendance were Ahmed El Nahas, Chairman of the Egyptian Chefs Association; Chef Markus J. Iten, President of the ECA; and Mirjam van IJssel, Executive Director of ECA; along with Chef Essam Sayed, Chairman of the Red Sea Chefs Chapter; and the host Essam El Garf, General Manager of the Hurghada Marriot Beach Resort. With a bevy of hospitality luminaries from El Gouna to Marsa Alam, many members and friends came out to get acquainted and network among their pals.
