The Egyptian Chefs Association is organizing a 3-day hands-on "Cake Decorating Fondant and Gum Paste" class in Cairo. Whether professional chef or amateur, you will discover a great new way to add excitement to your cakes by using the easy-to-shape icings. With help from Wilton Method Instructor, Rodaina Mahmoud Attia, you will learn how to create flowers and accents with beautiful detail. Hand-on practice will also teach you how to use tools to cut and shape amazing textured ribbons and borders. Shaping fun animals and other figures of edible products is also included in the course. Each new technique will prepare you to decorate your Grand Finale graduation cake.
The workshop will cover the following:
- Buttercream icing
- Handling and storing fondant
- Tinting and marbleizing fondant
- Covering a cake board and cake with fondant
- Gum glue adhesive / draping
- Ribbon garland and borders
- Creating gum paste flowers
- Using fondant cut-outs / overlays / inlays
- Fondant borders
- Shaping animals and figures
The training workshop will be conducted in Arabic by Wilton Method Instructor Rodaina Mahmoud Attia. Participants who make their own Grand Finale Graduation Cake will receive a certificate.
Registration fees: LE 600 for ECA-members and LE 750 for non-members.
