As part of its efforts to strengthen relationships with key stakeholders in Egypt’s hospitality and foodservice sectors, Meat & Livestock Australia (MLA) hosted an exclusive Chef’s Table evening at Umami Restaurant, bringing together executive chefs, restaurant owners, celebrities, and culinary leaders from across Egypt’s dynamic hospitality scene.

The event was organized by MLA with the support of the Egyptian Chefs Association (ECA), which played an important role in facilitating the gathering and inviting a distinguished group of Egypt’s leading executive chefs, creating a valuable platform for networking, knowledge exchange, and industry dialogue.

The evening was led by Mr. Daren Watson, Director of MLA – Europe, Middle East & Africa, and Ms. Ana Fruci, Business Development Manager at MLA, who shared insights into MLA’s activities and highlighted the opportunities Australian beef and lamb present for the Egyptian market. Their presentations underscored MLA’s commitment to supporting culinary professionals and strengthening partnerships throughout the region.

A highlight of the evening was the presence of Chef Tarek Ibrahim, Corporate Executive Chef for Meat & Livestock Australia and the face of Australian red meat across the Middle East and North Africa. A Certified Master Chef, Chef Tarek worked alongside the talented Umami culinary team to curate an exceptional menu showcasing the quality and versatility of Australian red meat.

Guests enjoyed a thoughtfully designed dining experience featuring Green Mango Salad, White Tomato Soup with Cheese Balls, Anna Puri with Short Ribs, a selection of premium Australian cuts including Tomahawk, Ribeye, and Oyster Plate, followed by Tres Leches Cake for dessert.

Beyond the outstanding cuisine, the Chef’s Table fostered engaging discussions on the evolving hospitality landscape in Egypt, emerging consumer trends, and the role that premium Australian beef and lamb can play in supporting innovation and excellence within the country’s foodservice industry.
