The Egyptian Chefs Association has just concluded the 12th National Salon Culinaire, hosted by the InterContinental CityStars and sponsored by Juhayna Food Industries and Unilever FoodSolutions.
With more than 170 chefs from across the country participating, there were 72 medals
awarded overall: 10 Gold, 26 silver and 36 bronze. InterContinental Hotel Group
CityStars was the proud winner
of the ECA Culinary Trophy 2009, with 5 gold, 10 silver and 12 bronze medals. Special prizes were also awarded to individual highest scores.

New SACA Honorary Members
Martin Kobald, President of the South African Chefs Association (SACA), awarded Markus Iten, President of the Egyptian Chefs Association (ECA) and Mirjam van IJssel, Executive Director of the ECA, with Honorary Memberships to SACA in recognition of their relentless dedication to the ECA and to the culinary profession in Egypt.
