The Egyptian Chefs Association wishes to say a BIG thank you to Mounir Makar for welcoming the Association's members and friends at his farm on Monday, 7 April! During the tour around the farm, Mounir explained to us all about the hydroponic system of growing organic vegetables, herbs and lettuce. We all learned a lot, had a good time and enjoyed a great lunch with fresh produce from the farm. More >>>

4th Italian Cooking Class at Concorde El Salam

Once again, Chef Vincenzo Gluglielmi of Concorde El Salam Cairo Hotel was cooking up a storm at Italian Cooking Class No. 4, held on Wednesday, 2 April. The four-course menu incorporated several inexpensive products, but was labor-intensive to prepare, showing that good cooking needs time, and the cheaper the products, the more care you need with their preparation. Beyond the Club Sandwich

Chef Mohamed Abdel Metaal, Sous Chef of the Semiramis InterContinental showed gourmands and friends of the ECA how to prepare innovative and healthy sandwiches and wraps, during a demo kindly hosted at The Grill of Semiramis InterContinental on 1 April. The demo was concluded with a tasting-lunch in which the chefs of the hotel treated the participants to a wide variety of great-tasting sandwiches and wraps. Participants List
